Description
This bamboo pendant light is hand-woven into a compact dome 10 in (26 cm) across. Lit, it draws a web of fine shadows on the ceiling and walls, shifting with your viewing angle. Off, it brings the warm texture of handmade basketwork. It is for people who love Japandi or boho-chic interiors and want ambient light rather than bright task light, over a small dining nook, a desk or a nightstand.
Design & materials of a bamboo pendant lamp
The bamboo strips are interlaced by hand in a tight, regular weave. Each strand keeps slight variations in width, a sign of handwork: no two pieces are ever quite the same. The fiber keeps its natural tone, while the white cord and canopy blend into a pale ceiling; the whole pairs with light walls, washed linen and blond oak. The shape stays simple, a rounded volume with no ornament, so the material speaks for itself. This bamboo hanging light plays the card of discretion. The light
The pendant takes an E27 bulb, not included, and is not dimmable. Choose a 2700 K warm white LED: it deepens the honey tone of the fiber and gives soft shadows. The weave filters a good share of the light: count on it for the mood of a corner, and add a ceiling light or a lamp for reading.
Where to hang a bamboo pendant light
In a dining nook for two, a single 10 in (26 cm) pendant is enough over a round table 28 to 31 in (70 to 80 cm) across. For a longer table, line up two or three, spaced 24 in (60 cm) apart, at the same height. Size & installation

Switch off the breaker before any work and call an electrician if the wiring is unfamiliar to you. Over a table, leave 26 to 30 in (65 to 75 cm) between the bottom of the dome and the top. In a walkway, keep at least 6.5 ft (2 m) under the shade so nobody bumps into it.
Care
Dust the weave with a soft brush or a vacuum's brush attachment on the lowest setting. Avoid water and household cleaners, which swell and stain the fiber. Bamboo dislikes constant humidity: choose a dry room over a bathroom. Make sure the lamp is off and cool before each cleaning.

Really nice weave and it's very light. I took a star off because I hadn't spotted that the bulb wasn't included, and I couldn't use it the day it was fitted, which was frustrating as the electrician had just left. Lovely, slightly darker tone
The pendant is well made and looks great in our living room. I'm giving four stars because the bamboo is a slightly deeper honey color than it looked on my screen. It's not a problem at all, I actually think it suits our wood floors better, but worth knowing if you're matching something exact. Good little pendant and the weave is well done. I took one star off only because I wasn't confident doing the wiring myself and it meant paying an electrician, which I hadn't budgeted for. That's not the light's fault, it's clearly a ceiling fitting. I'm a sparky so the install was quick, a cord pendant on a standard ceiling box. What surprised me is the quality of the weave, it's tight and regular with tiny differences in the strands that make it look properly hand-woven. I put in a 2700K LED filament bulb and the bamboo glows warm, with lovely shadows on the ceiling. It's in our bedroom and it's become my wife's favourite light in the house. Pretty shadows everywhere
The first evening we switched it on I just stood there looking at the ceiling. The weave throws a web of fine shadows over the walls and they shift as you move around the room. Three stars purely for delivery. It took a lot longer than quoted and I had no updates for over a week. When it finally came the box was squashed on one side, though the shade inside was fine and kept its shape, the bamboo is surprisingly sturdy. Beside the bed instead of a lamp
We hung one on each side of the bed instead of bedside lamps, dropped quite low. It freed up the nightstands and the glow is really soft and intimate in the evening. The weave is tight and even, and each one has slight differences in the strands, which I like. White cord and canopy disappear against our white ceiling. Our electrician wired both in under an hour.
