Description
This wicker pendant light in natural bamboo is woven by hand, gap after gap. Switched on, it lets the light through the openings and casts a shifting pattern of shadows on the ceiling. At 14 in (35 cm) across, it is an easy pendant to place, over a round table, an island or a bed. It suits boho, japandi and coastal interiors, and anyone who wants to bring a handmade material into a room that feels too smooth.
Design and materials of this wicker pendant light
The bamboo is hand-woven into a regular weave that gives the shade its lightness. Its natural color, somewhere between straw and honey, warms white walls and pairs with linen, jute, driftwood and ceramics. This bamboo pendant lamp stays airy despite its volume: it dresses the ceiling without blocking the view. Each piece has small variations from the handwork, the sign of an object made by hand rather than molded in series.
The light
The socket takes an E27 bulb, not included. A 2700 K LED bulb brings out the golden tone of the bamboo and creates a warm mood. A clear globe bulb sharpens the projected shadows; a frosted bulb softens them. The pendant is not dimmable: in the evening, a moderate wattage is enough to soften the room without losing the play of shadows.
Where to hang a wicker light shade
Over a round table of 35 to 43 in (90 to 110 cm), a single 14 in (35 cm) wicker pendant is enough to create a focal point. Over a kitchen island, line up two or three, 28 in (70 cm) apart. In a boho bedroom, hang it above the bed, with cotton gauze bedding and a jute rug. In a sunroom, it carries on the garden feel. To mix textures, find more natural fibers among our pendant lights.

Size and installation
The pendant measures Ø 14 in (35 cm). It connects to the ceiling junction box, on 90 to 260 V. Turn off the power at the breaker, wire it according to the instructions and fix the canopy to the ceiling with suitable anchors. Over a table, set the bottom of the shade 26 to 30 in (65 to 75 cm) above the tabletop. In a walkway, keep at least 6.5 ft (2 m) under the pendant. Call an electrician if in doubt.
Care
Switch off and let the bulb cool. Dust the bamboo with a soft brush or a hair dryer on the cool setting, which blows dust out of the gaps. Avoid water and household cleaners, and do not install it above a cooktop.

Did my homework, no regrets
I spent a while comparing woven pendants before buying, so here's what helped me decide and how it turned out. The shade is hand-woven bamboo, Ø 35 cm, with an E27 socket. No bulb included, wich is fine because I wanted to choose my own. I went with a clear 2700K LED globe because the listing says a clear bulb gives sharper shadows, and they're right, the ceiling gets a crisp pattern every evening. It's not dimmable, so I picked a moderate bulb rather than a very bright one. I'm reasonably handy, so I wired it myself with the breaker off and fixed the canopy with anchors suited to our plaster ceiling. Took about forty minutes including finding my level. It hangs about 70 cm above our dining table and looks well proportioned. The natural color is warm without looking orange. My only advice would be not to hang it over a stove, which the listing also mentions :)Ø 14 in (35 cm) -

Brings the garden inside
We have a small sunroom at the back of the house full of plants, a wicker armchair and an old wooden table, and it always lacked a proper light. This bamboo pendant fits right in. It's light and airy, so even though it's 35 cm wide it doesn't feel heavy hanging in a small space. My partner wired it to the existing junction box with the breaker off, and it was a fairly easy job following the instructions. We used a frosted bulb because we prefer softer light in the evenings, and the glow through the weave is gorgeous. On summer nights with the doors open it feels like we're on holiday. The listing suggests a hair dryer on the cool setting to dust it, which works brilliantly by the way. Warm, natural and easy to place
We've just finished redoing our dining room with white walls, a light wood table and a jute rug, and I wanted a pendant that would bring some texture without overwhelming the room. This bamboo shade is perfect. The weave is regular and fine, and the color sits between straw and honey, which goes with the wood beautifully. You can see the small variations from it being hand-woven, which I really like. It's 35 cm across, which is ideal over our 100 cm round table; we hung the bottom of the shade about 70 cm above the tabletop, following the guidance. Our electrician wired it in and fixed the canopy in about half an hour. I chose a clear 2700K LED globe bulb, and in the evening the ceiling and walls are covered in a pattern of soft shadows. Softens everything
