Description
This rechargeable wall sconce goes where there is no outlet and no wiring. It carries two LED heads that swivel 360° and switch on with a tap on the touch area or from the remote. Aim it at a book, a picture or the ceiling for an indirect glow. It is for renters, for anyone who does not want to open up their walls, and for anyone who wants to add a light to a bedroom or hallway in a few minutes.
Design & materials of a cordless wall sconce
The black ABS body stays compact and discreet on the wall. Both heads swivel 360°, so you can send the light up, down or sideways depending on what you need. The contemporary, unadorned line blends into a modern or Japandi interior and disappears once switched off. Black stands out on a pale, off-white or sand wall and echoes black handles and fixtures in the room. Because this wireless wall sconce is connected to nothing, no cord cover runs down the wall, and it can move when you rearrange.
The light
Both heads use LEDs, powered by a rechargeable battery. Brightness is adjustable and three light colors are offered, from warmest to whitest: enough to read at night, get dressed in the morning or find something in a closet. In the evening, choose the warmest tone, more restful, as you would pick a 2700 K bulb. Run time depends on the brightness used: at half power, the battery lasts longer than at full light.
Where to put a rechargeable wall sconce
In a bedroom, a pair on each side of the bed works as a cordless wall-mounted bedside light and frees up the nightstands. In a dark hallway or stairwell, it lights the way without running a cable. In the living room, aim one head at a picture and the other at the ceiling for indirect accent light. Thanks to the remote, it is as easy to use as battery operated wall sconces with remote control usually promise. Size & installation
A single model is offered, in black. The sconce mounts to the wall with no electrical connection; just keep it easy to reach for recharging. Before fixing it, test the spot by holding it lit against the wall: check the area it lights and the range of the remote. In a bedroom, mount it 47 to 55 in (1.20 to 1.40 m) from the floor above the headboard; in a hallway, around 63 in (1.60 m). Light, with a package of about 11 oz (300 g), it suits most walls as long as you use a fixing suited to the surface.
Care
Wipe the body and heads with a dry microfiber cloth. No water or household cleaner on the touch area, which would respond less well. Recharge the battery as soon as the light dims, without waiting for it to run flat. Before a long absence, switch the sconce off to preserve the charge.

We got two for our son's bedroom so he could read without the big light on. He loves the remote and turning the heads around, and I love that there are no cables at kid height.

Exactly what I needed
Wanted reading lights by the bed without electrics, as we're in a rented place. These are perfect. The heads turn all the way round and the warm light setting is lovely at night.Black

Saved my rental bedroom
My room had one harsh ceiling bulb and I wasn't allowed to touch the wiring. These two sconces made it feel like a proper bedroom, with a warm light either side of the bed.Black

I'm a bit of a bookworm and my nightstand is tiny, so a table lamp took up all the space for my books. I mounted this above the headboard on my side and it's perfect. The swivel heads mean I can aim exactly where I need, and I use the dimming a lot as I get sleepy. My partner says it's the best thing I've bought for the bedroom this year, mostly because I stopped leaving the big light on.

My mum can't manage a lamp switch easily, so the remote has been a blessing.

That's lovely to hear, Cecilia. Please pass on our best to your mum.

Put one in the hallway with no outlet nearby. Works a treat with the remote.

Got a pair for my daughter's student room since she isn't allowed to change any electrics. She uses the remote from bed and points one head at her desk when she's studying!

Handy, slightly slow shipping
Great little light and very easy to set up. Delivery was a few days later than quoted and the tracking didn't move for a while, hence four stars.Black
Opalyne replied
Thanks for your patience with the shipping, Aubrey. We're glad the light itself was worth it.

Used one inside the cupboard under the stairs, which never had a light. Now I can actually find the hoover. Simple tap on the touch area and it comes on.

Renting, no wiring allowed. These were the answer above our bed.

We put a pair either side of the bed and use the remote every night. No more getting out of bed to turn the light off, and the black goes with our headboard.

Our upstairs landing is pitch black at night and the kids kept stumbling to the bathroom. I mounted one at about 1.60 m on the landing wall and now we leave it on the lowest brightness in the warm colour overnight. its enough to see the way without waking anyone. Being battery powered meant I didnt have to call anyone to run a cable, and I recharge it when the light starts to fade.

Mounted one in the hallway near the front door, where we never had any light. It's so handy coming in at night, I just tap it and the whole entrance lights up.

Smaller than I pictured
I was expecting something a bit bigger on the wall, maybe because of the photos, though I hadn't checked the package size properly. It works really well, bright enough to read by and the heads swivel easily, and I've grown to like how discreet it is. Just not the statement piece I'd imagined for above the couch. It's moved to the bedroom and suits it much better there.Black

No wiring needed
mounted it next to my reading chair in about ten minutes. One head on the book, the other on the ceiling. Remote lives on the armrest, so I never get upBlack

I've been wanting wall lights by my bed for years, but our house is old and the idea of opening up the walls for wiring filled me with dread. When I saw a rechargeable version I thought it was worth a try and I'm really glad I did. It took me about fifteen minutes to put up, most of which was me fussing over the height with a pencil and a level. The two heads swivel all the way round, so I can aim one at my book and the other up towards the ceiling for a softer background glow. The three colors are useful, warm at night and the whitest one in the morning when I'm getting dressed in the dark winter months. The remote is small but works from the bed easily. It looks clean and modern in black and nobody can tell it isn't wired in. I've since bought a second for the other side.

Bedside lights without an electrician
Our bedroom has one ceiling light and no wiring by the bed, and since we rent there was no way we could chase cables into the walls. I'd almost given up on wall lights until I found these. We bought a pair and mounted them about 1.30 m up on either side of the headboard, which matches the height suggested on the listing. Each one has two heads that turn all the way round, so I point one down at my book and my partner tilts theirs at the wall for a softer glow. You can change the brightness and pick between three light colours, and we leave it on the warmest one in the evening. The remote is the real luxury though, I switch them off from bed without moving. Freed up both nightstands too. The black looks crisp against our off-white wall.Black

Great idea, check your walls
I'll be honest, I was sceptical about a battery wall light. I assumed it would look cheap or be too weak to be useful. It's neither. The black ABS body is neat and slim, the two heads rotate fully so you can send the light wherever you like, and the brightness adjusts from a soft glow up to properly bright for reading. I use the warmest color almost all the time. The remote is a great touch for bed. I've given it four stars only because the fixing took longer than I expected. Our walls are drywall and I needed specific anchors, which I hadn't bought in advance, so it sat in the box for a weekend. That's on me rather than the product, but worth knowing. Now that it's up, it's one of the most useful things in the bedroom and I'll buy another for the hallway.Black
Opalyne replied
Thank you for such a thorough review, Adriel. Good tip about checking anchors for plasterboard before the big day, and we're delighted it's earned a second spot in the hallway.

Light is lovely and the remote is handy. The parcel arrived late with a squashed corner on the box, but the sconce inside was fine. Three stars for the delivery side only :)

Opalyne replied
Sorry about the late, squashed parcel, Sophie. Relieved the sconce came through fine, and thanks for letting us know.

Nice sconce. I'd have liked a white option to blend with my walls.

Thanks Bree, we've passed on the request for a white version.

Practical and smart
Bought two for the bedroom so the wife and I each have a reading light. Took me less than half an hour to mount both. Remote works well and the light is easy on the eyes.Black

Good light, slow parcel
The sconce works well and the swivel heads are really handy. Three stars only because it took much longer to arrive than I was told and I had to chase it.Black
Opalyne replied
Sorry for the slow delivery, Carmen, and thanks for your patience. We're glad the sconce is doing its job now.

lovely little light and the remote is handy. Four stars becuase I needed different wall fixings for my old plaster walls and had to make an extra trip to the hardware store. Light itself is great :)

I put one at the top of the garage stairs where there was no light. Easy to mount, easy to recharge when it fades, and the remote is handy when my hands are full.

Bought one to light the corner of my home office where I do video calls. Pointing one head at the wall behind me gives a nice soft background. Much better than my old desk lamp.

Clever and tidy
I wanted a picture light above a print in the living room without a cord running down the wall. One head points at the print and the other bounces off the ceiling, and it looks like a proper installed light. I held it against the wall switched on before drilling to check where the light landed, like the instructions suggest, and I'm glad I did because I moved it up a bit. The black body is small and disappears once it's off.Black
