This gold mushroom lamp has a rounded cap, a slim stem and a metal finish in a brass tone. It is cordless, runs on a rechargeable battery and switches on with a light touch. You move it from the nightstand to the dinner table, from the bookcase to a covered porch. It is for people who love small ambient lights and objects that look like flea market finds.
Design and materials of the gold mushroom lamp
The body is metal, stem and cap included, with a gold finish. It has the warm shine of a brass lamp without being one: the tone recalls that metal, not the material. The mushroom silhouette, born in the 1970s, has become a classic again in boho chic and warm modern interiors. Under the cap, the light falls in a soft cone onto the surface below. Pair it with dark wood, crumpled linen, glazed ceramics or a marble tray.
The light
The light source is a low-power LED, under 5 W, running at 5 V from its battery. A touch control switches between three light tones, from warm white to a more neutral white, and adjusts the brightness. At the bedside, choose the warmest tone to wind down for sleep. On a dining table, a low brightness creates an intimate halo around the plates. It is ambient light, not a reading lamp.
Where to put it
As a gold bedside lamp, it belongs on a dark wood nightstand next to a stack of books. In a living room, set two on a console on either side of a round mirror for a warm symmetry. Size and installation
The lamp comes in one size, in an 8 × 8 × 3 in (21 × 20 × 8 cm) box weighing about 1.5 lb (0.7 kg) with packaging: a small gold lamp, easy to move with one hand.
No installation is needed. Charge it before first use, then set it on a flat, stable surface. With no cord, it goes anywhere: in the middle of a table, on a high shelf, on a windowsill. Keep it away from water and do not leave it outside in the rain.
Care
Switch the lamp off before cleaning it. A dry microfiber cloth is enough to remove dust and fingerprints from the gold metal. Use no abrasive products and no large amounts of water. To look after the battery, recharge it regularly, without waiting for it to run completely flat.

Dinner table favorite
i put it in the middle of the table for dinner with friends, lowest brightness and warmest tone. It felt like candlelight without worrying about a flame. Back on my nightstand afterwards.

Bought for my wife's side of the bed
My wife kept catching the cable of her old lamp and knocking it off the nightstand, so I got her this. No cord at all, you charge it and that's it. She uses the touch control to switch between the warm and the whiter tone and to turn it down when she's falling asleep. The gold has a nice brass tone and looks a lot more expensive than it was. Small enough to pick up with one hand.
