Description
This brass glass wall light pairs a brass-look gold metal frame with a round, clear glass shade facing up. Lit, the bulb shows through the glass and its reflections slide across the gold; off, the sconce remains a small piece of wall jewelry. Design & materials of brass and glass wall lights
The frame is metal, plated in a gold finish that evokes brass while staying light. It holds a round, clear glass shade that lets the light move freely. This pairing of gold metal and clear glass is a classic of Nordic design, and this glass wall sconce warms a white wall and answers a gold faucet or brass handles in a kitchen. Like all gold wall lights, it looks best surrounded by calm materials: lime plaster, linen, blond wood. The clear glass shows off a handsome filament bulb, which becomes part of the decor.
The light
The bulb is not included. The sconce takes an E14 bulb, a slim format that fits easily behind the glass. Since the glass is clear, the bulb stays visible: choose a warm white 2700 K LED filament bulb for a golden glow that extends the finish. A round or flame shape works well. This model is not dimmable: a standard switch is all you need. Facing up, the light washes the nearby wall and ceiling for an ambient effect.

Size & installation
A single model is offered, gold with clear glass, sold individually and without a bulb. The sconce wires to a wall junction box and mounts by its backplate; the glass goes onto the frame once the sconce is in place. The package weighs about 1.8 lb (0.8 kg): use anchors suited to your wall. Mount it 63 to 67 in (1.60 to 1.70 m) from the floor in a living room or entryway; above a nightstand, aim for 10 to 14 in (25 to 35 cm) above the headboard. Wire it with the power off, or have an electrician do it.
Care
With the power off and the bulb cool, wipe the gold frame with a soft, dry cloth: water, household cleaners and scouring pads can dull or scratch the finish. For the glass, use a slightly damp microfiber cloth, then a dry one to remove streaks.

We bought our first house last spring and the bedroom had two wall points either side of the bed with the most dated fittings you can imagine. I'd been looking at brass and glass sconces for a while, but most of them were either very heavy and ornate or very expensive. These are light, simple and modern, with a gold finish that looks like brass without being fussy. Our electrician wired them in one afternoon, and the glass goes on after the sconce is fixed, which made it easy. They're sold individually, so remember to order two if you want a pair. The bulb isn't included either, and since the glass is clear you can see it, so I'd recommend a nice warm filament one. We went with round filament bulbs and the effect at night is lovely: the light washes up the wall and the ceiling and the gold gives everything a warm tint. It feels like a boutique hotel room now.
