Description
This feather chandelier forms a white sphere 16 in (40 cm) across, covered in light, quivering goose feathers. Switched on, it gives off a filtered glow, soft as a sheer curtain, and instantly softens a room. It brings texture to the ceiling and a cozy, almost theatrical feel, without heaviness. It is a choice for a bedroom, a dressing room or a living room where you want a hushed mood, or to give character to a very pared-back interior.
Design and materials of this feather chandelier
The goose feathers are assembled by hand around the frame and create an airy volume that moves with the slightest draft. Their pure white catches the light and returns it diffusely. The cord and canopy stay white and discreet, so that only the volume of feathers counts. This feather pendant light pairs with velvet, boucle, blond wood and powdery tones. Against a white ceiling, it seems to float; under a dark ceiling, it becomes a real focal point.
The light
It uses an E27 bulb, not included. You must choose an LED, which runs cool against the feathers, in 2700 K warm white for a golden, enveloping light. A 6 to 8 W bulb, about 600 to 800 lumens, is enough to set the mood. The chandelier is not dimmable: for a softer light, choose a dimmable LED bulb.
Where to hang a feather ceiling light
In a bedroom, center it above the bed, with a tufted headboard and white linen bedding: the cloud effect is complete. In a dressing room or by a vanity, it gives a soft, flattering light, to be paired with a more direct sconce by the mirror. In the living room, hang one over a reading corner rather than in the center, so a large room does not dwarf it. As a boho hanging light, it has spectacular company in our chandeliers.

Size and installation

The chandelier arrives ready to assemble: unpack the feathers gently and fluff them back up by hand. Turn off the power at the breaker before connecting it to the ceiling junction box, and call an electrician if in doubt. Adjust the cord length to leave at least 83 in (2.10 m) under the fixture in a walkway, or 28 to 31 in (70 to 80 cm) above a table. Very light, it suits any ceiling fitted with a hook or a canopy.
Care
Turn off the power and let it cool. Dust the feathers with a hair dryer on the cool setting, held at a distance, or by gently shaking the chandelier. Never use water or any cleaning product. Wipe the canopy and cord with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid humid rooms, which weigh the feathers down.

I'll admit I was nervous ordering feathers online, worried they'd arrive crushed or look cheap. Neither happened. The feathers needed a gentle fluff out of the box, and the volume is lovely and even. With a 7 W LED it gives off just the right amount of light for the bed room, warm and soft. Cleaning is simple too, I just give it a little shake now and then.

Lovely, but plan the fitting
Bought it for my wife's dressing room as a surprise. The chandelier is beautiful and she loves it, so this isn't about the product. I didn't realize it needs connecting to the ceiling junction box and assumed I could just hang it, so the surprise turned into a week of waiting for an electrician.
