Description
This tiered chandelier is small enough to hold in your arms: three stacked rings of hand-woven paper rope, 12.5 in (32 cm) across and 7.5 in (19 cm) high, hanging from a black cord. Their natural honey tone softens a single bulb and draws fine shadows around it. It is sized for rooms of 30 to 55 sq ft (3 to 5 m²) lit by one fixture, or for a kitchen island where you line up several. A boho piece that is easy to live with.
Design and materials of this tiered chandelier
The three rings of this 3 tier chandelier are made of hand-woven paper rope, in the spirit of seaside rattan. Arranged in tiers, from the widest at the top to the narrowest at the bottom, their vertical strands let the light through in fine lines. Each piece carries the mark of handwork, with slight variations in tone. This compact three tier chandelier pairs with light wood, linen, beige ceramics and cement tiles. In a white kitchen, it adds a warm touch without crowding the space.
The light
The chandelier takes a single E27 bulb, not included. A 2700 K warm white LED deepens the honey tone of the fibers; an amber filament bulb gives an even more intimate light. It is not designed for a dimmer. Its small diameter concentrates the light: it works well for 30 to 55 sq ft (3 to 5 m²). In a larger room, combine it with a wall sconce or a table lamp.
Where to put a tiered rattan pendant
In a bedroom, center it over the bed or in a reading corner, with a cane headboard and washed linen bedding. In a kitchen, line up two or three over an island, spaced 24 in (60 cm) apart: as a tiered pendant light, it repeats well. In a home office, it softens the light in a room that feels too white, above an oak table. For a higher ceiling, choose a wider model among our pendant lights.

Size and installation

The chandelier connects to a ceiling junction box. Turn off the power at the breaker and call an electrician if in doubt. Over an island or a table, leave 28 to 31 in (70 to 80 cm) between the surface and the bottom of the chandelier. In a bedroom, keep at least 6.5 ft (2 m) of clearance under the fixture.
Care
Turn off the power and let the bulb cool. Dust the weave with a feather duster or a soft brush, following the fibers. A vacuum on low with a brush attachment reaches into the gaps. Do not use water, and keep the chandelier away from direct cooking steam.

Cosy kitchen light
My wife has been on about a rattan-look light for the kitchen forever, so I finally gave in. We ordered two and hung them over the small kitchen island, about 60 cm apart and around 75 cm above the worktop, following the numbers in the description. I did the wiring myself with the power off at the breaker, which was fine as there were already two ceiling points. Each one takes a single E27 bulb, not included, so I picked up warm white LEDs. The light they give is warm and soft, and the woven rings throw thin lines across the ceiling which looks great in the evening. They're very light, so no worries about the ceiling holding them. Three over the island
We have a white kitchen and it was crying out for something warm. Three of these over the island did it. The honey color softens all the white and the black cords look neat. Each one needs its own E27 bulb so factor that in, we used warm white LEDs. Lovely shadows
what I didn't expect was the pattern it throws. The vertical strands let light through in fine lines, so you get these soft stripes up on the ceiling. It's over our small dining table in the flat and looks really calm. We hung it about 75 cm above the table. Remember it's rattan-look paper rope, not actual rattan, but honestly you can't tell from a meter away

I love this little chandelier, but I'm taking off a star because I'd have liked it in a larger size for our living room. Let me explain. I first ordered it for the bedroom, where it's perfect: it's 32 cm wide, which suits a small room, the honey woven rope adds warmth to our white walls, and with an amber filament bulb it gives a really intimate glow in the evenings. Because I liked it so much I wanted the same look in the living room, but at this size it would be lost in there, and the description is honest that it's for small rooms or grouping. So I've ordered two more to hang together over the dining table instead, about 60 cm apart. The weave is consistent, light and easy to hang, and the black cord gives it a neat finish. Gorgeous, needed an electrician
I'm hopeless with wiring and this needs connecting to a ceiling box, so I had to book an electrician, which is the only reason for four stars. Once it was up, I loved it. Good for a small office

I bought two of these for my kitchen, over a narrow peninsula, after a lot of searching for something natural looking that wasn't enormous. At 32 cm wide they're a good size for a small kitchen, and grouped they look much more intentional than one big pendant. The woven paper rope has a lovely honey tone and you can see small differences in shade between the two, which makes them feel less factory-made. The light that comes through is soft and filtered, with fine lines up the wall. The reason I'm giving four stars rather than five is the delivery, which took longer than I'd expected, and one of the boxes was quite squashed. Both chandeliers were fine inside, luckily. A practical point: they aren't meant to get wet and the description says to keep them away from cooking steam, so ours are at the far end of the peninsula, not over the stove. We moved into a small terraced house a while back and every room had the same boring white fitting. I've been replacing them one by one and this tiered chandelier went into our smallest bedroom, which is about 4 m². It's honestly the perfect size for it. The three rings stack from wide at the top to narrow at the bottom, and the shape is soft and natural without being too much. With a 2700K warm LED it gives a lovely golden light, and the strands let through these thin lines that make the ceiling look textured. It's not real rattan, it's woven paper rope, which I actually prefer because it's so light. I dust it with a soft brush as there's no washing it.
