This black square mirror, 20 × 20 in (50 × 50 cm), keeps things simple: clear glass outlined by a thin black frame. Its compact size slips above a powder room sink, into a narrow entryway or over a dresser. Its strict geometry gives structure to soft interiors, japandi or boho, and lends itself to wall groupings. Design and materials of the black square mirror
The black frame draws a graphic outline around the glass, with no molding or ornament. The square is the most balanced of shapes: it pulls the eye neither up nor sideways; it sets an anchor point. Square mirrors look better repeated: two, three or four side by side form a rhythmic set that makes the wall look larger. Pair this square wall mirror with black metal light fixtures, pale wood, white ceramics or a wall painted warm gray.
Where to put it

Size and installation
The mirror measures 20 × 20 in (50 × 50 cm) and the package weighs about 5.7 lb (2.6 kg) including packaging: one person can hang it.
It mounts on the wall with anchors suited to your wall. Mark the position with a level. For a grouping, keep 2 to 3 in (5 to 8 cm) between mirrors and line up the top edges. Above a dresser, place the bottom of the frame 8 in (20 cm) above the top. This small square mirror also works at eye level, centered about 61 in (155 cm) from the floor.
Care
Dust the black frame with a soft, dry cloth. For the glass, spray glass cleaner on a microfiber cloth, never directly on the mirror. Wipe without rubbing the frame. Avoid scouring sponges and abrasive cleaners, which would mark the black finish.

I moved into a rental with a bathroom that had no mirror at all, just a bare wall above the sink. This square was the right size for the narrow basin and only needed a couple of anchors, which my landlord was fine with. The frame is thin and black, which goes nicely with the grey tiles, and the glass is clear without any warping. I'm careful to air the room after a shower since the page doesn't claim any moisture resistance, and so far so good. It's a simple product but it does exactly what I needed, looks smarter than the price suggests, and was easy to hang on my own.

Four squares, one statement
I'd been looking at those huge statement mirrors for the dining room but they're heavy, expensive and a nightmare to hang in an older house with uneven walls. Instead I bought four of these and arranged them in a two by two grid. Each one is light enough to hang alone, which meant I could do it while the kids were at school without waiting for help. I used a level and kept the gaps around 6 cm. The finished grid looks deliberate and modern, and it reflects the window so the room is noticeably brighter in the evening. We have a long, slightly boring wall in our upstairs hallway and I'd been wondering for ages what to do with it. Prints felt too busy, so I tried three of these squares in a horizontal line. Following the advice on the page, I left about 7 cm between them and lined the top edges up with a laser level. The result looks like one large mirror split into panels, and the hallway feels wider and much brighter, especially in the afternoon when the light from the landing window bounces off them. Nice crisp mirror and the thin black frame is exactly the minimal look I wanted above my dresser.
