This cordless table lamp borrows the idea of restaurant table lamps: an object you switch on in the middle of the table, move around, and that leaves no cord behind. Long and narrow, it ships in a 14 × 3 × 3 in (35 × 8 × 8 cm) box weighing 0.7 lb (0.32 kg) with packaging: a small cordless lamp that is easy to carry. No setup is needed. Fully charge the battery on a 5 V power supply before the first evening, then place the lamp on a flat surface. On a dining table, set it in the center, or a third of the way along if the table is longer than 6 ft (1.80 m), and plan for two. Recharge it the next day on a hard, clear surface.
Care
Switch the lamp off before cleaning it. A dry microfiber cloth is enough on black metal; for a fingerprint on the touch area, use a barely damp cloth, then a dry one. Avoid household sprays and scouring sponges. Recharge the battery regularly, even if you rarely use the lamp.

I host a lot and wanted something better than tealights for the table. This lamp in the centre, warm tone, low brightness, and the faces around the table look so much nicer. I've wanted one of those little cordless lamps you see in restaurants for ages, and this one is lovely.
