This arc floor lamp traces a great black curve that carries light over a sofa, an armchair or a table, with no hole in the ceiling. Design and materials of this black arc floor lamp
The black-painted aluminum stem draws a wide, almost calligraphic arc ending in a metal shade. This modern arc floor lamp plays with empty space: its curve frames the room instead of filling it. The matte black pairs with a linen sofa, a wool rug, a dark wood or travertine coffee table. In a warm modern interior, it adds a strong line that echoes thin frames and metal fixtures. In a loft, it underlines the large volumes and creates an island of light.
The light
It takes an E27 bulb, not included, ideally an LED. For a living room, choose 2700 K warm white; for reading, a bulb of 806 to 1055 lumens gives enough comfort. As a dimmable arc floor lamp, it lets you lower the light in the evening for a movie or a dinner. For the dimming to work, pick a dimmable bulb. The metal shade directs the beam and prevents glare when you sit beneath it.
Where to put arc lamps for the living room
In the living room, place the base behind a corner of the sofa and let the arc reach over the coffee table: the center of the room lights up. As an offset light for the dining room, it replaces a pendant over a round table of 39 to 47 in (100 to 120 cm), with the shade 28 in (70 cm) above the tabletop. Size and installation

The lamp stands on the floor: assemble the stem, fix it to the base, then screw in the bulb. No drilling and no electrician needed; it plugs into a standard outlet (it comes with an EU plug). Set the base on a level floor, out of walkways, and leave at least 71 in (1.80 m) under the shade to walk beneath. Over a sofa, plan for the shade to land 16 to 20 in (40 to 50 cm) behind the seat so it does not get in the way.
Care
Switch off, unplug and let the bulb cool. Dust the arc and shade with a dry microfiber cloth. A stubborn mark comes off with a cloth lightly dampened with soapy water, wrung out, then a pass with a dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents, which would dull the black paint, and check the stem is tight from time to time.

Does exactly what it promises
I'll keep this practical. We wanted light over the middle of our sitting room, where there's no ceiling outlet, and I didn't fancy paying someone to put one in. This arc lamp solved it. Assembly is simple: fit the stem onto the base, tighten it, screw the bulb into the shade. The box is heavy, so get help carrying it in. I placed the base behind the corner of the sofa and let the arc reach over the coffee table, with the shade sitting roughly 45 cm behind the seat back so nobody bangs their head. There's well over 1.8 m under the shade so we can walk underneath. I used a warm white dimmable LED bulb and the dimming works well, we take it right down for films and turn it up for reading. The metal shade points the light down, so there's no glare in your eyes when you're sat under it. Matte black finish is clean. Very happy with it.Black -

Loft lighting done right
Our appartment is a converted warehouse with very high ceilings and the existing lights are miles up, so the evenings always felt a bit cold and cavernous. I'd wanted an arc lamp for ages and this one has made a huge difference. It creates a little island of light over the couch and coffee table, and suddenly the space feels lived in. The arc is wide and graceful, and the matte black paint matches the metal window frames. Assembly was easy, just stem to base and the bulb in the shade, though the box is heavy so i waited for my partner to help carry it in. i chose a 2700K dimmable LED bulb and the dimming makes it realy flexible, bright for reading, low for a glass of wine. The lamp looks fantastic and the arc reaches right over our coffee table. My only gripe is that I put in a regular bulb at first and couldn't work out why it wouldn't dim, until I re-read the description and saw it needs a dimmable one. So, my mistake. Once I swapped it, the dimming worked smoothly. The black paint is smart and it's stable on our wooden floor. Movie nights sorted
We love films and the ceiling light was always too harsh, but lamps on side tables never reached the middle of the room. Replaced a pendant we never got
When we bought the house we planned to have an electrician add a cieling point above the dining table, but after getting a quote we decided to try this lamp first. Really glad we did. Our table is round, about 110 cm across, and the arc reaches over it with room to spare. i set the shade around 70 cm above the tabletop as the listing suggests, and the base sits off to the side by the wall so it's out of the way. With a warm white dimmable bulb in, we have bright light for homework and board games, then turn it down for dinner. The matte black finish goes with our black chairs and picture frames. The box is weighty, so I'd recommend two people to carry it upstairs, but putting it together was very straightforward.
