Description

Oval LED bathroom mirror: design and materials
The mirror has a silver backing and is mounted on an aluminum structure, with no visible frame. Its oval shape softens a tiled wall and echoes rounded sinks. The front light shines through the glass and lights you head-on, without shadows under the eyes; the backlight spreads a halo onto the wall that adds depth. The result is understated: no molding, no visible metal, just glass and light. This oval LED mirror pairs with chrome, black or gold faucets.
Where to put it
Above a round vessel sink, the oval picks up the curve and balances the whole. On a double vanity, install two mirrors side by side, 8 to 12 in (20 to 30 cm) apart. On a dark wall or green zellige, the oval backlit bathroom mirror's rear halo brings out the texture of the tile. Size and installation

Choose the 20 × 28 in for a 20 to 24 in (50 to 60 cm) sink, the 24 × 31 in for a 28 to 35 in (70 to 90 cm) sink. Center it above the sink, with its middle about 63 in (1.60 m) off the floor. The mirror has some weight to it: mount it with anchors suited to the wall. No IP rating is specified in our product data: turn off the power, have the connection made by an electrician and follow the bathroom electrical safety zones.
Care
Switch off the light before cleaning. Spray a mild glass cleaner onto a microfiber cloth, never directly on the glass, then wipe from top to bottom. Avoid harsh descaling products on the edges, where they could reach the backing and the LEDs.

Did the wiring myself as I'm an electrician by trade, nothing tricky. Used heavy duty fixings on the plasterboard since it's got some weight to it. Front light is nice and even with no hot spots. Good product for the money.

Worth the electrician
Our bathroom has no window, so lighting has always been the problem. Before, we had a cheap mirror cabinet and a single spotlight that made everyone look gray. When we renovated I wanted the mirror to do the work, and this oval does. The front light shines through the glass straight onto your face, so no dark circles from overhead, and the backlight lights the wall behind so the room doesn't feel like a cave anymore. Mirror itself is excellent, I want to be clear about that. The front and back lighting look great and the glass stays clear after a shower. The three stars are about the overall experience. Delivery took much longer than quoted, and I hadn't really thought about the cost of getting an electrician in to hardwire it, which added a fair bit to the total. We fitted this oval mirror in our family bathroom as part of a full refit and overall I'm really happy with it. We went for the 24 × 31, centerd over an 80 cm basin unit, and it sits beautifully. With no frame it looks very modern without feeling cold, and the halo of light around the back adds a nice depth to the wall, especially in the evening when we turn it right down. The front light is lovely for doing the kids' hair in the morning too. I'm taking off one star because the instructions were very basic. Our electrician managed fine, but there wasn't much about the wall fixings, and as it's quite heavy we had to work out which anchors to use ourselves. A clearer sheet would help. Bigger than I pictured

Gorgeous, just plan the wiring
We bought the 24 × 31 for our main bathroom renovation and it's the nicest thing in the room. My only reason for not giving five stars is that the install turned into a bigger job than I'd assumed. I hadn't really thought about the fact that it's hardwired, and our old mirror just hung on a nail with a separate light above it. So we needed an electrician to bring a connection to the right spot, which meant opening up the wall and some retiling. That's on me, the listing is clear about it. Once in, it's beautiful. The oval with no frame looks very calm, the front light is bright and flattering, and the halo behind makes the wall look softer at night. The anti-fog is great after a shower. I'd been looking for an oval mirror with lighting for ages for our ensuite, which is tiny, and most of the ones I found were either rectangular or had a chunky frame. This one has no frame at all and it really does look like it's floating above the sink. We have a small round basin and I went for the 20 × 28, which sits nicely without crowding the wall. The front light is bright and even, so I can actually see what I'm doing with my brows, and the backlight gives a soft glow that works as a night light if you turn it right down. It remembers the last setting too, which is handy. Only reason for four stars is the delivery, it took longer than I was told and the tracking sat on the same update for days. Its a lovely mirror but be warned the box is heavy, around 9.5 kg, and it took me and my partner to get it up the stairs and then hold it in place while the electrician did his bit. We used proper anchors for our tiled wall like the listing says. Once up it looks great, the oval softens all the square tiles and the glow behind is really pretty.
